Can decorative coffee tables and surfboards be used outdoors?
Our coffee tables and decorative surfboards are primarily designed for indoor use. However, if you wish to use them outdoors, a marine varnish can be specifically applied to our wooden creations to protect them from the elements and moisture. This option is available for an additional cost of €15.
To benefit from this extra protection, please contact us when placing your order so we can apply the marine varnish to your product.
How to mount our decorative surfboards?
You have two options for hanging your decorative surfboards:
- Solid Wood Wall Brackets: You can purchase a pair of solid wood wall brackets available in our “Accessories” category. These brackets are specially designed to showcase your surfboards while providing a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing mount.
- Included Metal Hooks: Each decorative surfboard also comes with metal hooks that you can screw into the surfboard as desired. These hooks allow for a simple and secure installation on your wall.

How to Attach Table Legs
We provide screws suitable for our wooden creations. The number of screws required will be included in the package with the table legs. You will simply need to screw in the components upon receiving the package.
Each set of table legs comes with all the screws and instructions needed for easy and quick installation. If you have any additional questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact us.
How can I customize a decorative surfboard?
You can fully customize your decorative surfboard by choosing from the following elements:
- The shape of the board
- The size of the board
- The color
- The engraving or pyrography
You can send us your own design (text or drawing) to be added to the surfboards or choose from those offered on our website. If you’re unsure about the final look, we can create a visual mockup before you place your order. For more information and to place your custom order, please contact us directly. We will be happy to create a unique surfboard that perfectly matches your preferences.
What is the difference between engraving and pyrography?
- Engraving: Engraving involves carving or cutting into the wood using sharp tools to create patterns or inscriptions. This technique allows for precise details and can be done on the surface according to a desired design.
- Pyrography: Pyrography, on the other hand, uses heat to burn the surface of the wood, creating patterns or inscriptions in a very dark brown or black color. This technique gives a more rustic and unique look, with burned nuances that add depth and character to the decoration.
Both techniques offer distinct results and can be chosen based on the style and effect you want for your decorative surfboard.

Can I add fins to my decorative surfboard or coffee table?
You can add fins to your decorative surfboard. You will find the fins for sale in the “Accessories” category. You can also choose the color or varnish shade of the fins to match perfectly with your board. Once received, you will only need to attach the fins to the pre-drilled holes that we will make for this purpose on the surfboard.
Order
What is the expected shipping time?
Each of our creations is handmade. While we have some products in stock, we generally create items as orders come in for eco-responsibility reasons. This allows us to reduce waste and use only the necessary materials. Generally:
- Standard product order: Shipping occurs within 3 to 10 business days after order confirmation.
- Customized products: For custom items, such as bespoke decorative surfboards, the manufacturing time is usually 2 to 3 weeks.
Once manufacturing is complete, shipping takes place within 3 to 5 business days.
We will keep you informed about the progress of your order and you will receive a confirmation email with shipping details once your package is ready to be sent. For any specific questions regarding timelines, please feel free to contact us.
Returns
What is the return policy?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Le Comptoir de Malow. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your product, you can return it under the following conditions:
- Return Period: You have 5 days from the date of receipt of your order to return the product to us.
- Condition of the Product: Returned items must be in perfect condition, unused, and in their original packaging.
- Personalized Products: Personalized items (such as custom decorative surfboards) are unfortunately not eligible for return, except in cases of defect or damage during delivery.
- Return Process: To initiate a return, please contact us by email at [email address] with your order number and the reason for the return. We will provide you with detailed instructions for returning the product.
Refund:
- Once the product is returned and inspected, we will refund you via the original payment method within 14 days.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of defective or damaged products upon delivery.
